I have an Associate of Science degree in Digital Imaging Design or better known as Computer Electronic Publishing. This includes knowledge and experience of working with a task from prepress all the way through finishing and binding of the printed product. The area I enjoy most though is creating and designing the layout for the images which is why I like working with the web graphics and design.
Moonlight Pixels is named for the pixel by pixel design usually done in the late evening hours. I've drawn off and on during my life as like writing...drawing goes with moods. My first web pages were designed in 1998 and I moved from pencil to wacom tablet in October of 2001.
I became interested in drawing as a method to better match the design with the words. Inspiration varies but everything drawn has meaning for me. Sometimes it might start with the simple beauty of nature, a song, a friend, or the inspiration only one's soul can provide based on the random thoughts of our existence.
My promise to you is that all 100% of my drawings are from scratch and not from a pattern. I view tutorials as a positive learning tool and do not place those graphics on any of my sites. These drawings come directly from my mind based on something I want to draw or have been asked to draw as a custom. I do not use any method to shorten the drawing process like tracing/scanning images, copying another artist, using rubber stamps, cross-stitch, or any of the other ways I'm naive to know even exist. That breaks copyright of the original owner and I do not feel that is fair unless the artist has permission from them. It is also why the only photos used on my sites are those I've taken, friends took, or come from a royalty free paid membership site that I subscribe.
To me, it is more important to be unique and if that means I draw less then that is fine with me. Sometimes the drawing mood hits and you can draw a bunch of ideas. Then other times you hit a dry spell which I use to catch up on other things. Breaks are necessary sometimes and keep the drawing fun. Besides, the time away exposes you to many things that inspire you with new ideas.
So as I draw my pixels in the moonlight...may the blessings of the stardust that falls from the night sky warm your spirit.
Be blessed,
Mary
